Sowerbutt's Motor-Bike

As the motor-bike raced towards Kensington High Street, two white and yellow explosions tore through the braking Austin, the roof flying into the air. Flames and smoked engulfed the car with another explosion as the petrol tank went up.

Sowerbutt's Grenades

Sowerbutt fired four shots from his Enfield revolver, shattering the car window. The two Mills grenades with four-second fuses followed, the motor-bike screaming away.

Sowerbutt's Shooter

Both men carried Enfield No 2 revolvers with the serial numbers filed off.  A number had been stolen recently from Gough Barracks in Armagh. Sowerbutt also had two Mills grenades in his jacket pockets which he had bought from his mate in the Tower Hamlets Rifles.

Sowerbutt's Bullet

“A single bullet as he passes, Mr Sorbay, and he would be a dead man,” Lee Gerard said. “Clean, fast and we could disappear.”

Sowerbutt's Enemy

Sowerbutt blew a smoke ring at the ceiling. “Vershinin. The arrogant bastard acts with impunity in the Smoke. Snatches you from one of our larders and he cuts one of my men. No-one does that and survives."
